 What is E-SIM? 

E-SIM (eSIM) is a type of advanced SIM or embedded SIM.No beautiful Bengali word for the word embedded was found so in this article we will use the word embedded.

 Embedded SIM Although advanced technology has been used but its main function is the same as conventional SIM card.  As such, we can say that there is a replacement or upgraded version of the conventional SIM card.  However, the biggest difference is that there is no opportunity to open or insert the embedded SIM separately like the conventional SIM card.

 The new e-SIM is much smaller than the conventional nano SIM used.  Unlike other SIMs, it is a kind of connecting chip that attaches to the motherboard of the supported device at the time of making the device.  So there is no chance of opening or planting it.  As such, it can also be called a fully digital SIM card.

 Can e-SIM be used in Bangladesh?

 Although this e-SIM service has been launched in Bangladesh, it cannot be used yet.  This is because none of the telecom operators have launched this service.  However, since e-SIM service has been officially launched, it is expected that soon all telecom operators will also add Tara.  And very quickly we can use.

 1. iPhone: iPhone 13 Series, iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 10R, iPhone 10S and iPad Pro.

 3. Google Pixel: Google Pixel 6 Series, Pixel 5 Series, Pixel 4 Series, Pixel 3 Series.

 4. Motorola: Motorola Razr (no SIM slot, only e-SIM)

• All series of Apple Watch.  For example, Series 6, Series 5, Series 4, Series 3
• Samsung Galaxy Watch.
• Huawei Watch.

  In addition, e-SIM can be used on a number of laptops in Windows 10 or above.

 How to use e-SIM:

 If you want to use e-SIM, the first condition is that you have to have e-SIM supported device and subscribe to any mobile operator that offers e-SIM service, then you can easily use e-SIM (eSIM).

 Since e-SIM does not have the opportunity to be physically inserted like other SIMs, the entire task of activating e-SIM card on your device has to be done through a special software.  However, there is nothing to worry about so you do not need to install any special software or be reminded by anyone.

  E-SIM Support All e-SIM setup software is provided manually on all devices.  As a result, you can easily set up your own e-SIM from the settings through that software without any hassle.

 If you want to activate e-SIM on your device, you must first contact the mobile operator company.  You need to give them details about which number you want and which plan you want to use e-SIM in.  Then the mobile operator company will give you a card with QR code with which you can activate e-SIM.  You may have to pay extra for a QR code card depending on the mobile operator.

•  First you need to go to settings.
•  Then click on Cellular (or Mobile Data) option.
•  Then scan the QR code obtained from the operator by clicking on the Add Cellular Plan option.

 Rules for set-up e-SIM on Android smartphones-

•  First go to the settings option of your phone.
•  Then click on Network & internet option.
•  Then you will see an Add option. Click on the Add option and follow the instructions on the screen.  And Use 2 Number, select this option.

 In case of any smartwatch, you can activate e-SIM through the app on the phone.

 Advantages of using e-SIM:

 E-SIM has many advantages, the biggest of which is changing the network.  If your fan is a SIM supported device then it is seen that if you want to use the SIM of another network, you have to open the SIM and insert the other SIM which is very troublesome.  But in e-SIM the network can be changed instantly without the need to open or insert the SIM.

 E-SIM can be easily switched from one network to another.  It will be possible to store data of at least 5 virtual SIM cards simultaneously in one e-SIM so that you can switch to any network in an instant.  In other words, a place where there is no network of one SIM, if there is a network of another SIM, it can be used very easily.

 You can use e-SIM in dual SIM phones and there is an opportunity to use e-SIM as well as dual SIM.

 You can use different numbers for different tasks.  In the case of personal communication, one is business or official.

 Another big advantage of this SIM is that it is very small to look at.  The e-SIM card is about 3 times smaller than the smallest of the three types of SIMs currently in use, the smallest SIM Nano SIM card.  Its chip can be installed.  Disadvantages of e-SIM:

 There are advantages to eSim as well as some disadvantages.  You may encounter some difficulties in using e-SIM.

 Since there is no opportunity to open or insert the e-SIM, when you change your mobile phone or device for any reason, you will not be able to open the SIM card and insert it in the new phone like now.

 This may require contacting the mobile operator company when changing devices.  Also, if there is a problem with your phone or device, it can be difficult to fix it manually.

 If the phone or device is lost or damaged, then all the information could be found by inserting this SIM in another phone, but in case of e-SIM, if the mobile is damaged or lost, all the information in the SIM will be gone immediately.  Especially mobile numbers.

 Apart from that, as e-SIM is a new technology, it is still difficult to get its service in all countries and everywhere.  It will still take a long time to become popular and fully enter mainstream technology.
